The Nigeria Medical Association has called off its over three-month old
(65 days) strike action. Kayode Obembe, president Nigerian Medical
Association (NMA) confirmed to journalists that the delegates decided to
suspend the industrial action because of the outbreak of the deadly
Ebola Virus Disease.
He noted that their decision was influenced by the ongoing public
health issues in the country, stating that all doctors are expected to
report to work on Monday.
Obembe noted that they also agreed that the Federal Government recall all suspended resident doctors without punitive measures.
